2-postThere are so many opportunities for summer vacations. Unfortunately, many people can’t afford expensive holidays, but today every person can find a suitable solution. And the price is not important at all. It is possible to get positive and unforgettable emotions without having to spend thousands of dollars. And in this article we will discuss bike tours in Chicago.

Such tours are a perfect solution for the entire family. And lots of different options are on offer. It is so nice to ride beach bicycles and enjoy the beauty of this city. The most popular tour is lakefront. It is often called biking paradise, because riders have an opportunity to see top sights, such as Millenium Park, Lakefront Trail, Conservatory, North Avenue Beach and many others. It should be said that lakefront tour is the most kid-friendly.

Another option is to bike at night when all the attractions are illuminated and look really amazing. Every tour is ended with fireworks that are viewed from a boat which makes it unforgettable and very romantic. And for those who like to see the real life of the city there is a friendly neighborhood cycling tour. Lots of top sights will be visited and you will be able to stop at Chicago’s famous ice shop.

These are only some of the opportunities. As you can see, the whole family can have fun riding bike in Chicago. And it won’t cost you a fortune.

Chicago is bike friendly

1-postChicago is one of the most famous bike-friendly cities. Accidents do happen, but still, driving a bike here is much safer in comparison with other states and countries. Lots of beach bikes can be seen in the cities and a lot is being done to encourage people to ride these two-wheel vehicles.

Authorities are also interested in making people ride bikes and Chicago bike plan proves it. According to this program, by 2015 about 5 percent of all the trips that are not longer than 5 miles will be by bikes. The goal is really ambitious but is possible to achieve. What is more, there are many minor goals. Let us discuss some of them. To make people ride bikes, there should be special network of roads. And according to this plan the whole bikeway network that will serve neighborhoods and residents will appear. It will help to make today’s streets safer and more convenient for people who like this type of transportation.

But is there anything that has already been done? If we look at key projects of the last year we will see that more than 2 million dollars were spent on opening of Sauganash Trail. A lot of sheltered parkings for bikes at four stations (CTA) were constructed and more than 500 bike racks were installed throughout the city.

Everything stated above proves that the city of Chicago is bicycle friendly and people are eager to make it better.
